I've been using the notezilla for a month, just using the trial version of it (had to uninstall after that expired ). The only feature I like in a Notes app is to be able to stick notes on the desktop or on a certain window. At least on the desktop if not the window part, since it allows me to keep track of notes without having to open the app regularly.

As I said in my message, I want to stick my notes to desktop. Being able to see it on the desktop screen (when I press Win+D and it brings me to the desktop I should be seeing the notes there as sticky notes) and the next part of the message was about being able to stick those notes to different Windows (i.e. if I am running chrome, I can stick it to chrome windows only or any other window(s))

Damn, that sticky notes is the only feature I used to use Notezilla for. For some reason, OneNote never worked for me on my desktop. But if I am correct, all those other applications all have such a feature already, including Evernote and OneNote too.

I know exactly exactly the feature you are talking about from Notezilla. You can attach a note to any window and it will bring up the note if you ever open that window. . I believe it uses the window title name to keep track of with the sqlite or database.... So be it a web page, a word document or even a folder file, the post it/sticky note will pop up.

It is really nice because you can create a sticky note, "link " it to a window, ie a forum thread, and take some notes. If you ever return to that same thread, the post it note will just pop up like magic provided the window window title is unique. You can see what you wrote and also you can add to it.

There are a number of other sticky note applications that have this function. On my old pc I have a free application that does this, but I do not remember the name. This feature can be seen in the video on note zilla here: Windows: Attach sticky notes to Microsoft Word documents in Windows using Notezilla - YouTube

If there was a way to create a filesystem link, that opens a joplin note, you could likely make something like this work by placing a link to the joplin note on the pinned sticky note Are URL links on the roadmap?

Note that what you show as an example is a Chrome App, not an extension. You cannot replicate that (that is, the chrome.app.window API) in an extension. And Chrome Apps are already actively deprecated: you can't publish new ones (except for ChromeOS).

If you just need a separate window, you can call chrome.windows.create with the "popup" type. But you won't be able to keep it on top of other windows. You don't specify what you need exactly, maybe that's not required.

In Sticky Notes version 3.0 and later, you can sign in to sync your notes so that you can see the same notes across apps and your favorite devices. Usually, these devices have a settings command or link you can use. Consult your device's documentation if you're aren't sure.

Android phone Your sticky notes appear with OneNote for Android phones. Open OneNote, and then on the bottom right, tap Sticky Notes. Visit the Google Play Store to install OneNote with Sticky Notes.

You can also quickly access your sticky notes without OneNote if you are using Microsoft Launcher as a custom Home screen for your Android phone. From the Android Home screen, slide from the left edge to see your feed, then flick down and tap Customize feed to add cards. Flick down again and turn on Sticky Notes to add to your feed.

As long as your favorite devices are signed in to the same Microsoft account, your sticky notes stay synced up so that you can see the same notes, everywhere. Sign in with the same Microsoft account to see your notes across your devices.

I would really like to be able to use Evernote notes like sticky notes in other apps such as Microsoft Stickies, Onenote, Google Keep, etc. If I could have a single Evernote note pinned to my Windows desktop, or my Android homescreen (new widget that displays just one note), that would be AMAZING.

Interesting idea... not a Windows or Android user, so not sure what you mean by pinning a note, but I typically have certain notes that I use a lot "pinned" in my chrome browser. I bookmark those notes in Chrome and often will open them and pin the tab, since I go back to them throughout the day.

I would love if this happens through Evernote itself. It's a way of eliminating the need for running different apps. I currently use stickies on Mac and I want Evernote to dominate my sticky notes as well

A properly small sticky with a bit of function that doesn't cost a lot of screen would be as desirable as much as I would then consider paying for this service. It hopefully runs in the background (probably serving as a stand alone addition to the app on mac) for it not to take a lot ram when you just need your sticky notes running in the background and not the whole application open.

Or wait for iOs 15. ,the incoiming new quick notes ; it should cover your needs for iPados (. For Windows , the Sticky Notes free app asllows you the freeze notes in the different screens as a really Post It)

Many people love that cool app on the Mac that enables you to create little sticky notes on their desktop. While I actually like Google Keep and Google Tasks better since they are now integrated into all Google Apps, others might want the sticky note type of app.

When I searched there were a ton of note apps on the Chrome Web Store but it appeared that there was nothing that enabled sticky notes on the desktop. I began my search for an app that does this because of a post in a Chromebook community where one of the users was looking for an app like the Mac OS Sticky Notes.

The applications of this little bit of software in the classroom are mainly for helping students and teachers stay organized. They can create lists of things that need to be done, have a sticky for reminders, one for homework or as a way to keep links to look at. It can be used anyway the user deems best.

Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers on the market, and a big part of its success is due to the great number of extensions designed for it. However, students and people who spend a lot of time browsing the Internet in search of documentation or ideas know that finding a tool that will help you take notes in a convenient manner is pretty hard to come by. This is why I've decided to write this article and show you five of the best note-taking extensions for Chrome.(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle []).push();Sticky NotesSticky Notes Let's start things out with Sticky Notes, a simple tool that will cater to all your basic note-taking needs. This extension adds a button right next to your address bar, allowing you to easily call it up whenever you want to quickly write something. As far as formatting goes, you don't have too many options: you are only allowed to choose between four sizes of the sticky notes and six available colors. Furthermore, although you can select the desired font type size, the setting will be universal, so you can't change specific fragments of your notes. To be perfectly honest, this add-on isn't very pleasing visually, but if you need a quick solution for jotting down some thoughts, it's a solid option.PapierPapierAnother extension that tries to be as simple as possible, Papier, lets you take notes by opening a new tab. This tool is pretty bare-bones, as everything that you jot down will basically be one long note. But if you don't need any fancy features such as note-syncing or note-sharing, then you might want to check it out. Moreover, in case your eyes get tired, the extension allows you to switch to a black background with white writing instead of the traditional black text on a white (greyish) background. Although it offers a few more text formatting options than the previous add-on, I prefer using Sticky Notes, since it doesn't make me constantly switch between tabs when I want to take notes from the webpage I'm visiting.Google KeepGoogle KeepGoogle Keep isn't exactly a Chrome extension, but a real Chrome app. This tool has a pretty slick design and lets you take notes, set reminders or make check-lists. Additional features include the ability to color your notes differently, so that you can come up with a color code for priority, and the possibility to add images to your notes. Unlike the previous two extensions, Google Keep also works on mobile devices, so you will be able to sync your notes with your iPhones, iPads or Android-powered smartphones and tablets. Lastly, this add-on lets you share your notes via email.CoggleCoggleWhile not exactly a note-taking tool, Coggle is an app that lets you create mind maps, and those are great for writers and people working on complicated projects. The application requires you to sign up using your email address and seems a bit complicated at first, but it's quite handy after you get used to it. What I like the most about this tool is that it's quite elegant and provides many keyboard shortcuts to help streamline your interactions. Unfortunately, Coggle has a premium version, so you won't be able to use its entire functionality for free, but it will still be good enough even if you decide not to spend any money.WorkFlowyWorkFlowyLast, but definitely not least, WorkFlowy is a cool note-taking Chrome app that lets you take hierarchical notes. The main advantage of using this tool is that you will be able to create structured lists and easily add sub-ideas for each of the entries that you enter. Furthermore, in case you're having trouble using it, the application comes with detailed instructions and videos, so you will be able to take full advantage of all its features in no time. Lastly, WorkFlowy lets you synchronize your notes with iOS and Android devices, share your lists with others and mark items as complete when you're done with them.If you're someone who prefers using Google Chrome, you might also want to check out some of our previous stories such as: "Useful tips for Chrome power users" or "Top 5 Chrome extensions for MS Office users".
