The SMA energy meter simply joins the multicast group, so except if there is an issue with your router doing this multicast replication it should not stop multicast to other devices (like the MSA home manager)
Is there an updated version of this article, the PV System Setup Assistant user interface seems to have changed a bit since the article, first choice is now to select what device is used to communicate with sunny portal, should that be the new 2.0 or the current 1.0 homemanager?
Hi forum, I recently had a PV system installed with SMA TriPower X inverter and Sunny Home Manager 2.0 components. I was naively expecting integration into my home automation (home assistant) to be a breeze, as there are SMA integrations available, and how hard could it be, right?
Core features include: plugin-style architecture for extending with additional data sinks&sources, SMA TriPowerX and SHM2 plugins, MQTT and HA-MQTT publication, decent (hopefully) documentation, mechanism/sample config for integrating with home assistant, run standalone or as dockerized application.
With its PV yield forecast and measurement of household consumption, the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 knows precisely when it needs to limit grid feed-in, for example at midday. After all, even though on sunny days as much as 100% PV power may be available, if there is no one at home to use this energy, everything over 50% has to be discarded.
