Larceny: 5/4 Dale Street [motor vehicle broken into/damaged; nothing taken]; 5/4 Windham Road [firearm stolen from licensed owner, suspect apprehended]; 5/6 Austin Street [unlocked motor vehicle searched; nothing taken]

Q: Could BPD install a speed trap on West Street to address speeding?
A: Per previous request, BPD has added one daytime and one nighttime speed trap on West Street near Austin Street.
Q: Could the traps be relocated nearer the golf course, where speeding is heavy?
A: BPD will consider.

Zoë will flag West Street as needing additional measures to curb speeding.
Q. West Street currently has no crosswalks at bus stops and many elderly residents on the street use the bus. Could speed tables be installed to address speeding and safety issues?
A. Crosswalks can only be installed where curb cuts already exist; will follow up with BTD to ask.
Q. If a BTD walkthrough is scheduled, there is resident interest in accompanying them.

GPN May meeting item follow-up: Boston Water & Sewer Commission hasn't responded, but it seems that BWSC has little work scheduled in Hyde Park.
Zoë will keep GPN informed about Eversource activities during GPN's summer hiatus.
Zoë will keep GPN informed about any development proposals requiring a meeting with GPN prior to ZBA hearing during GPN's summer hiatus. Joan will schedule a GPN meeting and available members can attend.
June 17, 6–8pm. The Boston Planning Department will present its new Squares+Streets Small Area Plan map for rezoning in Hyde Park. Hyde Park Municipal Building, 1179 River Street. More information, registration: https://www.bostonplans.org/news-calendar/calendar/2025/06/17/cleary-square-squares-street-plan-updates-and-clos (you do not have to complete questionnaire to submit registration).
Please consider attending the June 17 meeting—whether you know a lot or a little about this rezoning initiative. Your voice is essential to ensure that the final plan reflects the community’s priorities.

The MA House and Senate are now considering the proposed budget in conference committee. They hope to complete work by July 1.
The 2026 session will wrap up at the end of July. Major legislation is expected to be completed in June or July.
Updates
Construction activity has resumed at 101 Summer Street (houses behind Summer Street). A wall is being built between the new house and the railroad tracks.
TOMORROW, June 13: 9:30am–2:30pm. Hyde Park Juneteenth Celebration. Martini Shell, 1015 Truman Parkway. Flyer was emailed to GPN list separately.
Next meeting is scheduled for October 5 at 6:30pm on Zoom. Have a great summer!
