IIT Bombay Wins at ASME Student Design Compeition 2013

Hello All,

We are pleased to inform that our team from Innovation Cell (UMIC), IIT Bombay (www.umic-iitb.org) has again performed exceptionally at the World Finals of ASME Student Design Competition.

The team secured "Second" in this highly anticipated international competition at IMECE 2013, only trailing the Ryerson University from Canada. This year's competition was very tough with over 25 entries from all over the world including USA, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, France, Egypt and Peru.

The aim of the competition was to develop a Remote Inspection Vehicle, capable of inspecting a disaster struck facility, keeping humans away from direct exposure. The design was specific to disasters in Nuclear facility, such as recent destruction in Fukushima Nuclear Reactor.
