就職指南：(面接対策)プレゼンテーションの構造、「私は御社に貢献できます」

お世話になっております。NPO-ITSOの兪子豊です。
すっかり春になってきましたね。皆さんはいかがお過ごしでしょうか？
今回は続いて面接対策をまとめ、
「私は御社に貢献できます」メッセージの伝えることを説明いたします。

Today I would like to present some points for preparing
your self-presentation at a job interview. As I mentioned
in the previous newsletter the goal of the presentation is
to get through the message “I will be an asset for your company”.

First of all, in order to stress your abilities (including
“problem-solving skills”, “ability to take action/energy”
and “communication skills”), you should “interview yourself”
and gather as much information as possible to find episodes,
which could prove your abilities.

Communication skills are evaluated though the process of
interaction with the interviewer, so you do not have to
include a specific episode, describing these skills.

I have picked “hints for interviewing yourself”
from the book introduced last time, the “Logical thinking
for job interviews” by Tsuda Hisayuki and Shimokawa Mina.

Hints for “self-interviewing”

* When answering to the questions below, try to find
examples of “accomplishments”, where “your work was
highly evaluated by others”, and you “have achieved
excellent results”.

Your personal characteristics
・ What are your strong (selling) points? Present an episode from
your experience to prove your point.
・ What are your weak points? Present an episode from your
experience to prove your point.
・ What are the qualities you are proud of?
・ What are you not very good at?
Etc. (full list will be included in the next newsletter)

Other hints for gathering information include
“What I was like as a child”, “How others see me”,
“Part-time job experience”, “Communication skills”,
“Work values”, “How I see myself in the future”,
“Issues of social concern”.

It is necessary to extract from your experience episodes which
would prove your abilities, such as that can be generally
regarded as “extraordinary, rare” or describing in detail
the process of how you “overcame an obstacle, difficulty”.

(For mid-career applicants, the method would be of course
different, the self-PR story focusing on the actual results
of past work.)

Try to write as much as you can remember to provide material
for you self-PR speech.

In the next issues I will go on to present hints for
collecting information about the companies you want to apply for.

今日は前回お話しした、面接で伝えないといけないメッセージの
「私は御社に貢献できます」のため必要な準備について説明したいと思います。

まずは「私には能力があります」（能力には「問題解決力」、
「行動力」と「コミュニケーション力」が含まれます）をアピールするために
自分に取材し、広く深く情報を集め、有力なエピソードを探り出します。

コミュニケーション能力は面接官とのやりとり事態で評価されますので、
特別にこの能力を裏付けるようなエピソードは要りません。

自分への取材に必要なヒントは前回取り上げた「ロジカル面接術」
（津田久資、下川美奈著著）より引用いたします。

自分取材のための手がかり

＊以下の項目に答える際は、「人から評価された」
「よい結果を生んだ」よい視点で「何かやりとげた実績」を
抽出するように心がけてください。


自分の性格
・ あなたの長所は何ですか？それを物語るエピソードはどんなものですか？
・ あなたの短所は何ですか？それを物語るエピソードはどんなものですか？
・ 人に自慢できる得意なものは何ですか？
・ 苦手なことは何ですか？
等など（全リストは次回お送りします）。

他には子供のころの自分、大学生活、他人が見た自分、アルバイト、
趣味、人間関係、職業観、未来の自分、社会的関心事についてのてがかりがあります。

そこから、「能力」を象徴するエピソード、
いわゆる「誰が聞いてもすごい、得がたい」
もしくは「困難を乗り越えたプロセスが具体的」に描かれている
エピソードを引き出すのが必要になります。

（キャリアの方の場合はやり方は違ってきますが、
以前の仕事の中での実績を強調する必要には変わりありません）。

それでは、自己PRの元になる是非自分取材をしてみてください。
