Hi,
Sorry I've also entered this on the Hydrogenaudio forum but not sure
which is best....

I've just installed iTSfv (5.60.25.1) on Vista for the first time but
I just cannot get it to run. This program looks so useful but I keep
getting the following errors:

1. Could not find a part of the path 'T:\iTSfv\Logs\'
(where T: happens to be my 'Documents' folder on a network drive.)

2. Unhandled exception error.... The property 'ExportTrackPatterns'
could not be created from it's default value. Error message: Access to
the temp directory is denied. Identity <my username> under which
XmlSerializer is running does not have sufficient permission to access
the temp directory....

If I then press Continue the application opens so I try to change the
folder locations in Options, but this fails and I continue to get
permission errors.

My account has Admin rights so I should have permission; I've also
tried running the program "As Administrator" but it still does not
work.

Also, I recently upgraded to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1; could
that be a problem?

I hope you can help me please.
regards,
Adrian

Adrian,

Did you attempt to install iTSfv to a Network drive? If so, please install
it to a local drive because any .NET application will fail to run from a
Network path.

Your Documents in T:\ should work fine.

Let me know if the case is another.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply. I had installed the iTSfv and iTunes
applications on my local C: drive. However, the music folder and
iTunes library files are all on the network drive; should that be a
problem for iTSfv?

FYI at the same time I also installed an application called iTunes
Agent and that is also giving me .NET errors so I do wonder if the
recent .NET upgrade to 3.5 SP1 may be the problem.

Interesting. Usually a reinstallation of iTunes works; but this time clues lead to a .NET issue. This is the first time I came across a .NET error. Are you going to try:

reinstalling iTunes  - if that doesn't fix then
reinstalling .NET 3.5?

OK; I've not tried reinstalling; so I will try that when I get home
and let you know the result.

Are you running OK on .NET 3.5 SP1? I have read that there are some
issues with certain software running on this version and that rolling
back is not that easy.

Thanks,
Adrian
