June has always been known to be the start of summer and June 2008 is no different.
Detroit captured its 11th Stanley Cup with a 4 – 2 win over Pittsburgh. Big Brown was posted in the 1 spot on the rail for the upcoming 140th Belmont Stakes and is still favored to win.
Back to reality, professional sports can be commented and argued over on many different shows, but on “Its All About Sports,” we review it, I give you my opinion and its done.
The sports we focus on is the type of events that the athletes are in it for the “Love of the game.”
You won’t see battles as to the highest paid player or the agent who has all the popular stars in his pocket. Sports for those who may have lost their sight, hearing, a limb or two, if someone in one way or another is challenged emotionally or physically, is our focus.
An athlete is someone who demonstrates courage in the eye of competition without their determination waivering.
James Mastro Ph.D., was awarded the medal of courage at the Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony this past weekend and ESPN.com featured an extensive article illustrating his spectacular athletic background. In one part of the article, Jim accomplished in 60 minutes 3,076 push-ups to raise money for his family to join him at the Para-Olympics.
Jim Mastro was a guest on our show, and is what I recognize as a modern day role model. Oddly enough, Jim probably would not agree, and he as a person just keeps moving forward and will probably today continue his normal training without thinking twice about what he has done for disabled sports.
If you want to read the article and end it with a smile, read it at:

Now that I have your attention, tonight on our show we have several guests. These gentlemen are headed to Beijing for the 2008 Para-Olympics to represent the USA in Goalball. If you are wondering what is Goalball? Listen in tonight and learn all that you need to know about this amazing sport and these amazing gentlemen.
Speaking with Tom Parrigin, Coach of the U.S. Men’s Goalball team and several of the athletes on the team, you will know that when they step onto the court later this year and represent the USA, the likelihood of bringing Gold back is more so a reality then seeing any professional athlete taking a cut in pay for the “Love of the game.”
You can participate in the same old ways, see below for all our contact information, and remember, its you the audience that makes the show.
It is my honor and privilege to welcome the U.S. Men’s Goalball team onto “Its All About Sports.”
