iPhone 5 Having Trouble Keeping Up With Touch Input?

Apple may have come through with some iPhone5-focused fixes when it delivered iOS 6.0.1, but there are some other issues that continue to plague the handset. The latest to get some attention has to do with how the phone registers touch input, and one case where it seems to rapidly get fatigued and start ignoring touches altogether.

The issue crops up when you’re rapidly rubbing your finger back-and-forth at a diagonal. While previous iPhones would continue to register such motion, the iPhone 5 appears to lose track of your finger, sometimes ceasing to register movement for a moment, before ignoring it altogether.

So far, this problem only seems to appear with the iPhone 5, regardless of what iOS version it’s running, so we might be looking at a problem with the phone’s touch controller itself. Admittedly, this doesn’t sound like a bug that is going to cause most of us many problems, but it’s a bit upsetting that something that worked so well on an earlier iPhone is now broken on a
