Der Intel Core i5-8500 ist eine mit sechs Kernen ausgestattete CPU der Mittelklasse. Der Prozessor der Coffee Lake-Generation wurde 2018 vorgestellt und verzichtet auf Hyperthreading, wodurch sechs Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet werden. Die Grundtaktrate liegt bei 3 GHz, in Situationen hoher Last kann die CPU bis auf 4,1 GHz beschleunigen. Trotz neuer Generation setzt der Core i5-8500 auf ein nochmals verbesserten 14-nm-Prozess.
