Theserooms are set up for recording audio media. In them you will find microphones, instruments, software, and the computers to facilitate that process. The larger studio is on the the first floor of the library, room 1042. The smaller studio is housed in McIntyre Library's lower level, room 102. Expected uses include: Podcasting, audio recording, sound mixing, and music recording.
This studio provides access to resources for editing videos and/or creating and editing audio with a iMac Pro and a Sound Booth and editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Garageband, iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Logic. The room is available for either single or group use.
The Audio Production Studio (APS), located just off the DSC Lab in McHenry 0384, is a fully equipped audio recording studio geared for spoken word and basic music recording. The sound-treated space comes equipped with an iMac for recording and editing (software includes Logic Pro X, Adobe Audition, GarageBand, and Audacity), two Shure MV7X microphones on boom arms, a Steinberg UR44C audio interface, and additional mic stands.
Note that this space is sound treated, but not sound proofed. While the room is located in a quieter part of the library, there may still be some noise from nearby offices and the DSC Lab. While we cannot guarantee a 100% quiet environment, the Shure MV7X's do a very good job of rejecting extraneous noise both inside and outside the room.
The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

This thread aims to explore the use of Python and libraries for creative audio processing and sound manipulation both in real-time and for offline work with audio files, but also for MIDI sequencing, audio synthesis etc.
Feel free to share your experiences with the libraries listed above, provide or ask for advice, recommend other Python libraries useful for creative audio processing, or share code snippets, books, articles, etc.
Pyo is a Python module written in C to help digital signal processing script creation. It provides a complete set of classes to build audio softwares, compose algorithmic musics or simply explore audio processing
