Selamat datang ke wad bersalin Dr Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital di Manila . Pada satu-satu masa
terdapat lebih kurang 300 ibu dan anak mereka ditempatkan didalam wad ini. Jika korang nak tahu Filipina merupakan negara Asia Tenggara yang mempunyai kenaikkan populasi tertinggi iaitu 2% setahun. Di hospital ini, purata kelahiran bayi seharian ialah 60 orang . Rekod tertingginya ialah 100 orang bayi dalam masa 24 jam! Purata kelahiran bayi sehari di negara ini pula ialah 200 orang sejam! Akibatnya di Dr Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital , sebuah katil akan dikongsi oleh 3 orang ibu baru pada satu-satu masa.
Persoalannya disini mengapa padat sangat? Oh that is an easy answer. Filipina ialah sebuah negara Roman Katolik . Paus tidak membenarkan penganut Katolik memakai kondom, memakan pil perancang, melakukan pengguguran atau apa saja bentuk perancangan keluarga. Kesemua ini dianggap berdosa keran "melanggar kehendak tuhan" . Yes ladies and gents
macam sesetengah mazhad Islam the whole idea or family planning dianngap dosa. No I am not kidding. Di Filipina 90% penduduknya adalah katolik.
Presiden Beningno Aquino III cuba untuk mengurangkan kadar kelahiran Filipina dengan memperkenalkan pengajian seks disekolah dan kempen perancangan keluarga bagi mengawal populasi Filipina yang telahpun mencapai 90 juta orang! Walau cadangan beliau mendapat sokongan rakyat, pihak Gereja Katolik Filipina menentang sehabis-habisnya cadangan Presiden. Mereka memberi amaran akan menyisihkan beliau dari gereja Katolik. Bizarro shit! So there you go people. Rupa wad bersalin di sebuah hospital di Filipina serta masalah ledakkan kadar kelahiran akibat campur tangan tak masuk akal agama. In this case you know what separation of church and state makes so much sense!
