Error: exception occured during image IO

Hello! I am a completely new user to ITK-SNAP and I have first selected an image for DICOM series to open and I receive this message...

Error: exception occured during image IO. Exception: E:\tk\bb3\Nightly\itk\v4.12.2\itk\Modules\IO\GDCM\src\itkGDCMImageIO.cxx:222:  itk: :ERROR:  GDCMImage IO(0000016E7A89C6F0): Failed to get the buffer!

Can anyone tell me what the issue is please? I just downloaded version 3.8.

Hi Nathanie,

One reason for this might be Unicode characters (i.e., non-Latin characters) in the filename/directory.

Another reason might be an unusual DICOM file. Please try a converter like dcm2nii or Horos to convert to Nifti.
