Hi all,

I successfully installed snap-1.6.0-rc2 today on a box with the Ubuntu
7.10 OS and a 64bit AMD dual core processor. I would like to thank the
developers for the software, it is great !

However, I get this weird bug: If not run as the root user (with sudo)
InsightSNAP crash while trying to open any file type (I tested DICOM
and Analyse). On the contrary, I experimented no problem at all when
running it with sudo. Here is the message I get when it crash:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
david@UBUNTU:~$ /usr/share/itksnap/itksnap_build/install/bin/itksnap
terminate called after throwing an instance of
'std::ios_base::failure'
what(): basic_ios::clear
Abandon (core dumped)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I have notice that I will get the same error message if I just
open and close InsightSNAP.

I think this problem is important, since running a user process as
root is a potential security hole.

I may take the time to debug it myself in the future, but for the
moment, any idea or cue would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help,
--David
