Hi,

We are planning on running our MRI brains through FreeSurfer, which creates .mgz (gzipped .mgh) files. In the event that the automatic segmentation is poor, we want to load the masks into ITK-SNAP for cleanup. Does ITK-SNAP open either of these file types? If not, is there a converter program someone has used to convert from .mgz to .nii?

Thanks,

Jared

Jared,

FreeSurfer has a very nice converted mriconvert (or mri_convert ?)
that can go from their native format to NIFTI and back

Thanks, we'll give that a try.
