Dear ITK-SNAP users:
When I load DICOM images obtained from Micro-CT,ITK-SNAP shows "error reading images: failed to allocate memory for image". How to save this problem?
                        Best wishes
                        Ge Zhipu

Hi,

How big is the image? Perhaps there is not enough memory in the system? Does this happen on a computer with more memory?

Paul

The image is about 3.96GB , effective pixel size is  8.82um and 1186 images . I use a computer of 6GB memory and it still display an error.

Yes, but ITK-SNAP also needs to allocate memory for the segmentation layer. ITK-SNAP 2.4 needs 6 bits per pixel, ITK-SNAP 3.0 uses 4 bits per pixel. Try on a machine with 8 or 16Gb, it should work then.

Thanks very much. It works when I use a 64Gb machine. The segmentation process  use about 43Gb memory.
