Hello all,
the program doesn't fit my laptop screen. I changed the resolution to different settings.
This is the only program that doesn't fit. any solution ?

Thanks,
Deen

This might be related to a recent fix applied by Paul to show the correct sizes on super high resolution screens. As a temporary check you may want to download an older package by at least 1 month, and check if the problem goes away. I had a hint of this problem when I tried the new Snap on my laptop. Everything was good except that I couldn't make the window smaller.

Hi Dean

Could you send a screenshot of your display?

Please try the following:

1. Find the ITK-SNAP icon in the Windows Start menu and right-click it
2. Select "Open File Location" - this will open a folder containing the ITK-SNAP shortcut.

Inline image 1

3. Right click the ITK-SNAP shortcut icon and select "Properties"
4. Under "Target", add the following text at the very end: --scale 1

Inline image 2
5. Press OK (you may be asked to provide admin password) and then try running ITK-SNAP again.

Please let me know if this worked.

Thanks!
Paul

Hi everyone,

To begin with - thanks for a very useful and intuitive tool!
I've recently purchased a laptop with a high-resolution display and I'm having trouble fitting the program to the screen. I'm running the Linux 64 bit version.
Do you have any ideas for how to solve this problem in Linux? I've tried different scaling in the Linux environment (none specific to the ITK-SNAP program), but the program seems to be more or less "immune" to my settings.

Best regards,
Palmi

Palmi,

When you run itksnap, please run it with the --scale 1 command-line option. Let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thanks!
paul

Dear Paul,

Thanks for the fast response.
That worked like a charm!

Dear Paul,
thank you very much for the hint about the scale option.

I tried it, and the window now fit correctly to the screen (and the resizing works as well).
However, I still have two issues:
- the fonts get really tiny
- immediatly after opening and displaying a volume, it seems like the working area is cropped within the application window: the upper menu disappear above, the left part of the lateral toolbar is cropped, the lower part is cut and the right sliders are  cut in half.

Is there any option I could toggle?

Best regards

Enrico

Are you using Windows? And are you using the latest version of ITK-SNAP?

Thanks
Paul

Yes,
The problem is when using ITK-SNAP 3.6 on a laptop running Windows 10.
On a Linux workstation it runs smoothly without any problem.

Does this happen to be a Dell precision? Some others have reported similar issues on that laptop.

Thanks!
Paul

It is indeed a Dell, but a XPS.
I can imagine there is no solution since apparently it is a vendor/machine related issue: is it so?

Thanks!

Hello Dr. Yushkevich,

First of all, thank you for creating such a useful segmentation tool!

I know this is an old post, but I am having this issue on a Lenovo Thinkpad T470s, 64-bit Windows 7, i7-6600, 20GB RAM, Intel HD 520, extended display with both screens at 1920*1080.

I've reproduced the following issue on ITK 3.6 and 3.8, with the --scale 1 append not helping.

Opening ITK-SNAP, the window scaling is normal:

But when opening an image, the program scales to hide underneath the window border:

So I am unable to select any of the ribbon buttons, and the blue crosshairs are about a cursor length above the actual cursor.

The problem exists even without the external display. Furthermore, "Disabl[ing] display settings on high DPI" did not help, nor did any of the other compatibility troubleshooting techniques.
I have also adjusted DPI scaling in windows proper, also to no avail. I have also tried re-installing ITK-SNAP which also didn't help. Finally, I also tried maximizing, changing the window size, popping out the segmentation toolbar, which also did not help me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Spacibo!
