I would like to update you on some exciting news about the future of
SNAP. In February, Prof. Guido Gerig (Univ. of Utah) and I put
together an NIH R01 proposal for continued development and maintenance
of the tool. Many of you provided strong letters of support for this
application, for which we are very grateful.
The great news is that this proposal scored in the 1st percentile.
This means that, in all likelihood, the project will be funded, and we
will be working hard for the next five years to bring you new and
improved versions of ITK-SNAP. I attach the abstract of the proposal,
which gives an idea of the aims and scope of the work.
Over the next weeks and months we will be putting together a
development team for this project. As part of this, we will be looking
for a highly skilled software developer with ITK/VTK and GUI expertise
to join our University of Pennsylvania development team. If you are
interested, please email me your CV, a short personal statement, and,
if available, links to software projects to which you have
contributed. A more formal announcement will be made once the grant
has been formally funded.
Thank you all for your continued support of ITK-SNAP!
