Minimum Requirements:
Physical and Logical Data modeling experience
ERWIN
SQL
DB2
Oracle, Sybase, Informix all are a plus
Brokerage/Financial experience just about a must.
Description:
Design Conceptional Logical and Physical data models in Erwin; Re-use
data elements and use standarized definition if available in
enterprise Metadata repository called Data Shopper; The target
database server could be DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix
etc. Star data modeling with Erwin templates one for each target base.
Modify existing data models to accommodate changing business environments.
Utilize model manager or stored display, subject area in Erwin merge
or derive models.
Create data dictionary using Data browser in Erwin; Export it to
Microsoft office in Excel format; Export data mosels in XML format.
Brainstorm with business Analysts; Discover or streamline business
processes; translate the processes to functional data requirements and
transform the requirements to data models; Validate the models with
analysts, Information architects, developers and DBA'S.
Assist in estimationg data volumes; creat indexes, archiving historic
data and tuning applications performance; create views or partitions;
normalize data for the most part of models; denormalize some of them
for application performance.
Reverse-engineer from database or DDL SQL script to document
syncronize or update the existing application models; recreate Logical
Data Models from the reverse-engineered physical models using the
corporate standard abbreviations and acronyms.
Complete corporate data models or database objects; Mentor users and
architechts in ERWIN.
