FYI,
The HL7 FHIR Device Alerting WG holds twice monthly online sessions (2nd and 4th Thurs 10AM ET) on the topic of FHIR based Device (PoCD) Alerting. A few of us from IHE ACM WG are participating to better align the FHIR Device metric and FHIR Alerting efforts with the existing IHE DEC and ACM efforts to assure that ACM alert notifications can be adequately mapped through FHIR Alerting.
Not sure whether or not IHE ITI technical WG representation is in the loop.
Once the FHIR Alert resource and observations become normative (FHIR R?), I would recommend the IHE ITI Domain to consider revisiting the mACM profile. Presuming the profile is still at Trial Implementation state, as it might be expected to migrate from the FHIR Flag resource to the FHIR Alert resource.
Also, once FHIR Alerting becomes normative, the ACM WG could potentially consider deprecating use of the FHIR Flag resource as used by mACM in favor of the more capable FHIR Alerting resource for FHIR based sourcing of alert notifications to be disseminated by the ACM profile deployments (AM/AC/endpoint populations).
Just some things to consider. Comments welcome.

Hi Monroe,
Thank you for the update.
From the ITI side, this is something we should keep in view.
I can bring a work item proposal to the ITI Planning Committee to track and assess possible next steps. If there is interest and volunteer support, this could likely be managed either as a revision or potentially as a CP. mACM could also migrate to the newer IG format. We currently have several FHIR-related proposals where we are also watching the disposition of R6 before making updates.
This may also be a good topic for the Caliper Accelerator, as FHIR is an area of focus.
An additional point for the planning group: the original author of mACM is no longer active in ITI, and we have not yet recruited replacement Planning or Technical Co-Chairs. As a result, our ability to advance new work items depends heavily on contributors willing to help lead and carry the work. If participants in DEV or Caliper have interest, their engagement would make it much easier for ITI to take it forward.
Steve
