Right now, we score the availability of our batch jobs and
transmissions in a very binary way. For example, if XYZ job has an
SLC of 16:00 (meaning it will complete by 16:00), we count it as a
miss if it completes later than the SLC time. Problem is, a job that
misses by 2:00 minutes has much less impact than a job that misses by
2 hours. Our current format of scoring doesn't incorporate that
impact at all.
What I am looking for is industry best practices on establishing SLC
for batch / transmission jobs, and how to score them in a way where
impact is factored in. We want to measure the number of minutes that
a job misses by, by are unsure of how to incorporate that data into a
scoring model. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
John
