Whilethe Lucy Mini Slicer is easy to assemble, there are some things to be aware of. I recommend that you attach, but do not tighten all four of the bolts that attach the slicing platform to the base. Tighten them after you get all four bolts in. And make sure that when you attach the backstop that you put it INSIDE of the Ease. Yes, ask me how I know. (I did swear a lot when assembling this.)
This slicer works much in the same way as the original large Lucy Clay LC Slicer. You put your cane or clay block on the cutting platform, pressed against the backstop. Then you turn the knob on the Ease to advance the front of the cane to the blade. Next, you lift the blade and advance the knob the desired amount. Then lower the blade. Remove the cane slice, THEN lift the blade. Repeat.
The arch, which holds the blade, also allows it to be adjusted easily on the hinge side. But on the handle side, the fit is a bit tight. The solution is to loosen the bolt attaching the arch to the base bracket. But then that means the arch is a bit wobbly. This could be solved with a washer or something, and I look forward to the manufacturer addressing it in the future.
i have one of these. assembly easy as you said. what i am going to do on the table is use the self-adhesive grid sheet from the big slicer (available on website but order it with something else or postage extortionate). the grid sheet will have to be trimmed to fit but i thought this better than varnish or some other wood treatment
Well i managed to see one thumbail when i selected the print and i thought the issue was resolved, but i just exported another print (using the prusaslicer is mini profile) and it didn't show the preview thumbnail on the printer once again ?
Yep, I'm experiencing the same thing. Ever since having to deal with the binary g-code thing (of which I haven't gotten to work; just exporting as a normal gcode in Slicer), none of my uploads show a preview.
I'm seeing duplicate gcode files on my printer after uploading a single file from prusaslicer onto the thumbdrive. If I select that duplicate file on the printer (which has a file name that is the same with a "._" prefix), there is no preview. However, if I select the other gcode (with the file name created at export) I can see the preview. I wonder if these issues are related.
I had the same problem with not showing the thumbnails. The problem was that I was using an old printer profile, when I switched to 'Original Prusa MINI & MINI+ Input Shaper' the MINI+ shows the thumbnails again.
The latest firmware (5.1.0) is now designed to display QOI format images, not png like it used to show. QOI are smaller. This whole binary gcode and QOI change is designed to offset the abysmally slow connection to prusa printers by making the files smaller. Rather than actually fixing the terrible speeds but that's a different issue.
As such your old gcodes with png thumbnails wont display. Updating to slicer 2.7 is the start, however you also have to have the latest mini profiles too where the thumbnail string in Printer Settings has been updated too (as described above by glowin). Updating the slicer does not always update the profiles. Use the Configuration>Check for configuration updates option to try and force it to update the profiles.
If your Mini printer profile you are using already has the thumbnails set to QOI and gcode sliced with that profile still isn't showing on the mini then you have an issue. As such that should be reported to the appropriate github. As it could either be a PS or firmware issue in this case then take your pick as to where to report it. The devs should move it if you put it in the wrong one.
I must say that the rollout of 5.1.x has been done very poorly by Prusa. I was at firmware 4.3.4 with bootloader 1.1.0. I got no warning nor advice of how to upgrade to 5.1.2. Took me a day to find out I had to first upgrade to firmware 4.4.1, which automatically updated to bootloader 2.0.2, then, and only then, upgrade to firmware 5.1.2 and bootloader 2.3.4. What a mess they created...
I don't get how this is solved...
I have a mini with an SD card with 1000 old gcode files on it with meaningless names that I need to print occasionally. How can I see what they are?
Do I need to role the firmware back?
Hello! Thank you for the information here. I understand that now that I have updated my MINI, I need to re-slice files to have the images appear again. Is there a place where Prusa has posted updated sliced demo files for the MINI? From time to time I print those demos and it would be nice to have the images appear for these too. I don't really want to configure and slice them all myself. Thanks!
So how does it work? Can I turn on Input Shaper in prusa slicer? My Benchy took 1 hour and 10 minutes last week with the old 2.6 version of PS and the old 4.4 firmware and know with the newest versions it also took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I use the preset profiles from Prusa.
Ah I found it on my own. For does who have the same problem: You have to go to the printer Configuration Assistent in Prusa Slicer there you can click on the printer input shaper profile. Thats it. Happy printing to all.

I always asked my 3 year old to come help me with cooking dinner, but she felt nervous about the knives. I bought her a mini cutter and she loves it! She's so excited to slice and dice and contribute to making something delicious. Thank you.
The teacher is working on that. The problem is that their classroom computers (other than the Chromebooks) are ancient. When we tried that 6 years ago the computers they had were constantly choking on Cura LE. The administration has newer ones, but they are unlikely to let us use one of those.
Yes, you set the dimensions and copy the start gcode into the header and the end gcode into the footer. CuraLE has a lot more variables (enclosed in ) so you will need to convert those to ones that Kiri:Moto recognizes. See -moto/gcode-macros.

Swirled Apple Tarte Tatin is a modern take on a French classic dessert. This twist on the classic French tarte tatin is elegant and delicious. Using apples, puff pastry, and caramel, these mini apple tarts are sure to impress.
Apples baked in buttery caramel, until the apple absorbs the caramel and turn amber. The original dessert is rustic and beautifully humble, just apples cut, placed in a pan with caramel, then baked with the curst on top and inverted. Not much to look at, but one of the most revered desserts for the rich caramelized apples and flaky pastry. On instagram I saw a version that was so elegant, but still looked equally as delicious. Perfect spirals of apples, baked in caramel and turned out onto puff pastry. HOW did they get those even continuous slices of apples. I have most pastry equipment available to home bakers, but nothing in my pantry could create this shape. A little sleuthing and I found it, my new favorite kitchen tool.
