This is the space where Small World Music used to be on W State St. It would be great if we could get this space, but the first thing we'd need would be dues and incorporation as a non-profit. Jeff Silber's working on the latter, but we'd all have to figure out a number on the dues. How much per month is Ithacka worth to you?

Pete, I am back in town this week  if you're interested in looking at the rental space. Let me know and we can work out the day and time.

Digging through NYCR's past meeting minutes suggests that people were paying about $42/mo. I didn't however look up how many people there were at the time (2007) or what kind of rent they had to pay down there.

Overall, Stan and I figure that our monthly expenses should total about $1500, including rent, insurance, utilities, consumables, and other incidentals.

I was thinking around $50 per month. We could also have different types of subscriptions. For instance, a 1 year subscription for $500 and month-to-month for $50.

But how many members will we REALLY have? We had 7 attendees in our last meeting, including Jeff which I'm not sure will be an actual member. I don't think we have yet reached a critical mass (whatever that may be) to afford $1500 per month.

I think that we need to get operating costs well below $1500. I think
above $50 a month per person and you will start losing people fast.
Even $50 is on the high side. High recurring monthly costs will kill
the group, since based on what was listed in it, it does not include
equipment purchases. I really think the recurring costs need to get
down below $500 a month maximum for the group to be sustainable (10
people x $50 per month). If there are costs that go up with the number
of people, consider what the are at with 10 people.
