Our client requires an experienced NOC Manager
Candidates should be familiar with the management of mission-critical NOCs that support complex distributed Internet-based ASP applications. We are only looking for people that have large NOC experience and have managed 24x7 technical operations teams.
Client provides technology solutions for the advertising industry. They are seeking an experienced manager to oversee the operations command center. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, process-oriented, and have a successful track record of managing a 24x7 technical operations team. They will have overall accountability for the performance and availability of all DART production systems and networks globally.
Individual responsibilities: - directing the day-to-day operations of the team, responding to and resolving issues. - Coordinating escalation and resolution of high-priority issues. - Supporting development and implementation of automation technologies. - Developing, implementing and monitoring command center standards and service levels.
Team Responsibilities: network monitoring, webserver monitoring, distributed systems monitoring, automated operations monitoring, backups and tape management, release coordination and implementation. Skills and experience required: Strong leadership skills, prior experience in leading a 24x7 operations center, minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, BS in Engineering or CS, must be able to work long hours and be on-call to coordinate issue resolution, excellent oral and written communications skills.
Product/Industry knowledge: Strong emphasis will be on the candidate’s technical competency in: Internet technologies (IIS), network technologies (DNS, TCP/IP, Cisco, etc.), distributed systems monitoring, data operations automation, UNIX and NT/Win2000 operating systems.
Approx 5-10 people report to this job. Good for this job: someone who has run a NOC for ASP, ISP, website. No good for this job: LAN/WAN Managers, Network Operations, and Data Center Managers
Location: New York City
Compensation: $80k - $120k, depending on experience
