8:30am until 5:00pm

14 miles, 4 locks, 72.3ft combined drop in height.

We get FOUR locks, with a combined difference of height in 72.3 ft. :-)

The leaves should be pretty at that time, too. Last year we had the entire canal to ourselves. Never saw another boat, the whole time!

Details:

PUT IN at Seneca Lake State Park http://nysparks.com/parks/125
(Entry to the Park is free before 9am)

If we meet at the put-in at 8:30am we can drop boats and gear and shuttle all the cars to the takeout, bringing all the drivers back in one vehicle.

TAKE OUT at the DEC launch in Montezuma near the 5&20 bridge (42.962044,-76.739116). (14 miles total)

Nice leg stretch opportunities at Oak Island in Waterloo (5 mi) and along the Canal Harbor in Seneca Falls (8 mi).

We can also leave a car at the Rt. 89 bridge (42.939208,-76.761481), if we want an optional earlier take out in case weather turns inclement. (11.34 mi)
