If the problem cannot be corrected by using one of the above technical support options, repair options (i.e. Carry-In/Mail-In Service*, InstantExchange Warranty Service*), along with details and conditions of each, are available at the time of your call to the live technical support number(s) above or via the website at www.canontechsupport.com. Please note that under the InstantExchange program, a replacement product will be provided to you prior to your return of the defective product. Since the defective product becomes the property of Canon USA at the time of the exchange, the defective product must be returned in the shipping materials provided. If the defective product is not returned, as directed, you will be responsible for the value of the replacement product, for which Canon USA may invoice you.

By the way, when I contacted Canon for help because their scanner wasn't working, they told me that they "don't support Linux". I replied by pointing out that they had taken the time to supply a driver, so surely they would want to make sure it actually worked when people installed it. But they simply repeated that they "don't support Linux".

I have an old Canon LiDE 90 scanner that works with no problem under Windows 7. Currently I am in a process of switching from Windows (7) to Ubuntu (18.10). One of my problems is that I cannot use my scanner in Ubuntu. When I connect this scanner to Ubuntu it is not recognized by the scanner software that comes with Ubuntu. I know that my scanner is not supported by the Sane Project in Linux: -project.org/unsupported/canon-lide-90.html

I downloaded the LiDE 220 setup software directly from the Canon website [win-lide220-1_0-ucd.exe.] The software unpacks and then stops with this message: "Failed to acquire information on the driver and software. Check the network connection and try again."

Next, I downloaded and installed the v1.02 driver [sc68-win-lide220-1_02-ea33_3] from Canon's website. I made sure that this was, in fact, the v1.02 driver by opening the installer's README folder and in turn opening the Version.txt file, which confirmed that the driver was MPDRIVER_VER=1.02.

This might be a solition for some people, but what if you do not have an internet connection available? Currently I am not able to install the actual driver. It is not possible to activate an internet connection on that machine - not even temporary. What is the solution?

Edit: Presonal solution for now: installing a driver from 2008. Why can't the actual software continue installation without internet connection? Is data collection valued higher than customer satisfaction?

The Scanner Driver is just that, the driver. The Full Driver & Softwaqre Package is just an installation program. It does not "contain" all of the files necessary for a complete installation. Based on the selections that you make, it will download and install during the installation process.

We have several LiDE 220 and 300 installed on vessels and for security reasons the machines to which they are connected do not have internet connection. Thanks to your message I have now been able to install the driver from your website.

I'm going to take an educated guess here and say that the driver is not (fully) compatible with Apple Silicon based Macs. Development has likely ended for this device though legacy driver support remains (see #3 below). Canon should either recompile the driver for Silicon or make a note on their website updating their supported platforms.

Ventura is listed as supported, but makes no mention of Apple Silicon. A (hardware) driver/kext supported under Mavericks isn't all that different than one supported by Ventura. Many times, the only changes that need to be made is to the payload plists for the new OS. Their website says that the driver works with Monetray and Ventura and given your experience, this is the case with Moneray on Intel.

I have an old Canoscan Lide200. I know that the drivers have not been updated and will never be updated but I can still use mine. I go to control panel and tap 'scan'. This will return a message that the scanner is not responding. I close the window and do the same thing a second time. This time, it works.

At first you set up 'scanner' from 'system preference' --> 'Printers & Scanners' and add with + button, then CanoScan LiDE 200, then 'open scanner...', but after a while it says failed due to drivers broken or similar. but don't freak out please, actually I did.

Hi. I've upgraded my operating system to Monterey 12.2.1 and my Canon LiDE 210 scanner has stopped working. I have downloaded the version of the driver from the Canon website for the latest MacOS available, 10.5, and I've downloaded the version Ver. 4.1.4a (Mac) from the same website. Neither works. I've had recommended the Canon version Ver.18.2.0 (Mac) but I can't find it. Any offers?

When you open and unpack your Canon CanoScan LiDE 110 Scanner, it should work simply by plugging it into an empty USB slot. Sometimes, your scanner can experience issues communicating with your devices, if so, there is a good chance that you will need to update your driver.

Download the evaluation version of VueScan (www.hamrick.com) and install that scanning software. This will install 64 bits support for Windows 7. Purchase of the software is not required, as soon as the VueScan drivers are in place the Lide scanner can be used with any software on your computer intefacing the scanner. Also works for Lide 30 (and other Canon scanners not directly supported by Canon).

If they have a Windows Vista driver, you should be able to manually install that... Extract all files, then in Device Manager, right click on the device and during the install driver, point to the directory with the extracted files.

As I answered in someone else's question. With old unsupported hardware, if you cannot find a newer driver, the other thing to always try is to install it inside a virtual machine. Look here for more information.

- If the OS is upgraded with the scanner driver remained installed, scanning by pressing the SCAN button on the product may not be performed After the upgrade. in such cases, re-install the scanner driver.

Having installed git-core and gcc sane-backends was installed. However the CanoScan LiDE 120 is still not listed in the Yast scanner function.
I un-commented canon in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf to no effect.
The config.log from the installation shows the version as still being 1.0.27:## ----------- ##

If you're using Windows and you've installed a Canon driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

Where possible, the drivers applicable to each device or classof devices is listed. If the driver in question has a manual pagein the FreeBSD base distribution (most should), it is referencedhere. Information on specific models of supported devices, controllers, etc. can be found in the manual pages.

Note: The device lists in this document are beinggenerated automatically from FreeBSD manual pages. This means thatsome devices, which are supported by multiple drivers, may appearmultiple times.

With all supported SCSI controllers, full support is providedfor SCSI-I, SCSI-II, and SCSI-III peripherals, including harddisks, optical disks, tape drives (including DAT, 8mm Exabyte,Mammoth, and DLT), medium changers, processor target devices andCD-ROM drives. WORM devices that support CD-ROM commands aresupported for read-only access by the CD-ROM drivers (such ascd(4)). WORM/CD-R/CD-RW writingsupport is provided by cdrecord(1), which is a part ofthe sysutils/cdrtools port in the PortsCollection.
