Hi all,
Thanks to all who came out to the meeting earlier this month. This is a roundup of upcoming Spring fundraising opportunities, and a recap on Fall/Winter.
It's Cookie Season! I want to wish all our cookie sellers a very successful and fun cookie season. May your cookie sales be sweet!
Remember to: Keep Safe, Have Fun, and learn something new. Here are a few links to help with your sales no matter what troop you sell with!
Spring Badge workshops:
3/21 - Juniors - Detective and Scribe badges
4/18 - Cadettes - Special Agent badge
5/16 - Brownies - Making Friends and Home Scientist badges (Rising Brownies can attend).
This spring we are going to host themed badge days. The main focus will be on making these fun, active, and engaging while still meeting the badge requirements. We currently have 3 Harry Potter inspired Badge Days scheduled. There is a possibility we will also host one last Journey opportunity before they are retired. For each badge day we will need 3-4 girl/adult pairs.
Girls generally need to be a level above those they will be working with. If a girl does not have her own adult to work the event with her, she will be paired with another adult on the interest list. The
flyers for upcoming badge days are attached. Please share these with your local troops and Girl Scout groups to help advertise. To be added to the sign up list, please add your information here:

Durham Bulls Baseball - Spring, Summer
During the baseball season adults 18+ can sign up to work concession stands. In 2025 they added opportunities for girls 16+ to work condiment carts. Profits vary based on sales but are usually pretty good!
Duke Football - Fall
Girls 16+ and adults can work concessions at Duke Football and Basketball games to earn a portion of earnings from that game. This is a Girl Scout sponsored fundraiser.
FALL PRODUCT SALE
Registered Girl Scouts (girls only) can participate in the Fall Product Sale. Sell nuts, candy, magazines, Bark Boxes, and custom stationary, earning 18% profit toward your trip. Sale dates for hand delivered products is usually during October with extended online sales for shipped items continuing mid until early November. The sale can be done almost entirely online, with products being delivered to customers directly or for girls to deliver.
Luminary: Fall/Winter
During our last meeting Lori discussed the 2025 Luminary Sales and encouraged families to consider participating this year. Sales start around Thanksgiving, delivery in early December, and luminaria is usually December 24 (or other culturally relevant date). Routes are prioritized by people who participated last year, but routes available in Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, and Zebulon. This is a GREAT fundraiser for younger girls as there is no age minimum (other than being registered with Troop 7000).
Wondering Companions:
Wondering Companions is a non profit group that works with local youth groups to provide fundraising opportunities for travel. Victoria provided information on past and upcoming fundraising opportunities. They are currently in talks with NC State about working concessions at some games. More information will be provided if the opportunity is approved. Current opportunities include concessions at Coastal Credit Union/Walnut Creek during concert season (April-Sept/Oct) and the Chinese Lantern Festival (Nov-Jan) at Koka Booth.
Coastal Credit Union/Walnut Creek - Adults 21+ can sign up to work concession stands for concerts. The concert season begins in April. Profits and tips are distributed based on hours worked. The sign up slots will vary depending on the concert. A fully sold out concert will require 14 workers. To work you must have a current alcohol training certification through the venue. Certifications are valid for 3 years. New training will begin in March. The venue will occasionally ask for help for Food Concessions and offer opportunities for youth 16+.
Koka Booth - Chinese Lantern Festival (mid November through mid January.) Adults and youth 16+ were able to sign up for shifts. Profits and tips are split monthly based on hours worked.
