Job Description:
Language morphological templates review/update and language lexicon
creation

Overview
This position entails the development of the language templates and
word lists
The Speech and Natural Language group (SNL) builds technology for
processing natural language. The technology is delivered as various
types of features – spellchecking, grammar checking, word-breaking
for search, query-focused summaries (snippets), data extraction,
Natural Language interfaces, etc.

This team needs someone for 10 weeks to review morphological
templates and fill any gaps/correct any errors and add words to the
lexicon using the templates.

Daily tasks/ responsibilities
On a daily basis, this person will be working with tools provided by
the team to build templates and add words for the language,
interacting with the manager and another employee as the work
progresses.

Required Skills:
• Native or near-native competency in Dutch.
• Skills in detailed analysis of language (at the
word/morphological level), including knowledge of basic linguistic
terms for parts of speech and morphological terms.
• Editorial skills for written text, including detailed
knowledge of spelling and punctuation standards for language.
• Willingness and ability to work as part of a team to
ensure consistency and quality of work required.
• General knowledge of personal computers, and the ability
to install, upgrade and use MS applications.

Non-Technical Skills:
• Proactive and self starter.
• General investigative and problem solving skills and
ability to track details.

Bonus Skills:
• Knowledge of orthographic variation across language
dialects.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in that language Linguistics
or related field, or equivalent work experience/training preferred.

Length of assignment - 10 weeks (extensions are possible)
Core hours - 10 am to 4 pm (8 hours/day)
OT- Possibly
