Job Description:
Lead ETL Developer for the Client located in Pleasanton, CA.
DESCRIPTION:
*The candidate must be involved in at least 4-5 end-to-end DW/BI implementation projects and should be current with the latest industry trends.
*The candidate needs to be a self-starter with the ability to lead, design, develop and implement ETL jobs.
*These engineers are primarily focused on the creation, management, and availability of all data needs for the Business Intelligence and Reporting solutions as per the data model created by Data Modeller.
DUTIES:
*The role of these engineers encompasses the load/verify/publish data. *These engineers also work in conjunction with the Data Modeller and Architects to create, modify, or update data flows from the Source Systems to Staging; Staging to Repository; and Repository to Reporting (OLAP Cubes and Data Marts).
*Perform analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of Ab Initio software components
*Follow development guidelines, standards and procedures
*Must be able to also perform as a Data Analyst and address overall data quality, including the design of ETL strategies to source, match and merge from various disparate systems.
*Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews and get the big picture.
*Administer and maintain the ETL metadata repository in a multi-user environment
*Lead the project independently and communicate with Business Analysts, ETL developers and QA team.
*Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business team members
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Strong skills to lead a team of ETLs and also provide hands on experience
*10 + years of development experience with 5+ years of Ab Initio and Informatica development experience
*Experience with star schema and OLAP modeling
*Experience with Oracle,DB2 and SQL
*Experience with UNIX internals and shell scripting
*Deep knowledge of Ab Initio and Informatica deployment and architecture
*Understanding of change management and automation/repeatability
*Strong knowledge and use of full lifecycle development methodologies, standards and procedures
*Ability to multi-task and provide expertise for multiple development teams across concurrent project tasks
*Resourceful and self starter with minimal hand holding required
*Good team work and communication skills
Nice to have:
*Experience with PL/SQL
*Experience with any Informatica ETL tools would be a plus
