New issue 2930 by devro...@gmail.com: Anti idle request configurable
interval
http://code.google.com/p/iterm2/issues/detail?id=2930

When idle, send ASCII code
If selected, the specified ASCII code will be transmitted every 30 seconds
while nothing is happening. Don't use this unless you know what you're
doing as it can have unexpected consequences.

What is the expected output?
Can this be updated to set the number of seconds / interval for sending the
ASCII code? That way something that has a 10 minute timeout could be
configured to say 9 minutes to keep the session alive.

What version of iTerm2 are you using?
1.0.0.20131228

What OS version are you using?
OS X Mavericks 10.9.2

Do you actually find this feature useful? I'm about ready to remove it
because it's never the right answer, but I'm curious if someone has found
real value in it.

Normally I would not use the feature. But it comes in handy for one
specific occasion. Thy is when I'm doing a procedure on a Juniper or
Cisco router that takes some time. I can't have the session timeout so
need it to keep it open or else I will miss some messages to the
console. The timeout is normally 10 minutes. Thanks!
