New issue 2337 by jeff.fi...@gmail.com: iTerm2 progress bar scrolling issue
http://code.google.com/p/iterm2/issues/detail?id=2337

** READ THIS **
ATTACH YOUR ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist FILE TO THIS
ISSUE!
Almost all issues are configuration-specific. Issues missing this file will
be closed.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install updates/etc. via RVM or Homebrew
2. Watch as their progress bars scroll out of control
3. Profit?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Screenshot attached - I would expect this to work like a normal progress
bar.

Essentially each update that would normally overwrite the previous instead
creates a new line.

echo $TERM returns:
xterm-256color

STTY says my width is 78 columns and my width is actually 78 columns in
that particular pane.

I believe this is correct. I know
http://code.google.com/p/iterm2/issues/detail?id=1391 is a similar issue
but they had an incorrect TERM setting - my TERM setting seems fine, it
just does the same thing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Build 1.0.0.20130122 on 10.8.2, about to upgrade to the latest but
reporting now as I don't see anything in the changelog. I will report back
if it does fix it.

Can you log a session of this? Go to shell>log>start, repro the issue,
shell>log>stop, and attach the resulting file.

Also, does Terminal exhibit the same issue?

Same here with Homebrew. Attached a small log file of this problem "in
progress"...
