I am sorry if this has been asked but did not see a similar question,

I work with a variety of companies form my current place of employment
and in iTerm I was able to do the following

Go to the New and have a folder list
Company Folder
-> Production Servers Folder
-> Dev Servers Folder
-> Company Servers

Etc

in Iterm it lists all these "Folders" at the same level and this when
from a management 10 folder list to well over 30..

Can someone please explain how, or if this at all possible now.

Thank you in advance

Hi Brian,

the folders are gone in iTerm2. Instead the profiles get tags which
can be used to filter them in the profiles window. At the beginning I
was missing the folders very much, but now I feel quite comfortable
with the tags. Give it a try!

Tried it. didnt like it.

Unless I am missing the means the nest the tags
under one another... I still have 30 top level Tags/Groups/Folders..

I want to see
Company1
Company2
Company3

At top level, each of these has a Production and Development Folder
under....

instead I see
Company1
Company2
Company3
dev
dev
dev
prod
prod
prod

Hopefully this clarifies my issue.

Thanks in advance for your and any other response

Karsten is correct. Tags are flat and are meant to be searched rather
than sorted. The menus are not so useful when you have a lot of
profiles because they don't nest more than one level down (for
performance reasons). Your best bet is to use the profiles window
(cmd-O) and enter a search query like "company1 dev". You can get a
list of tags from the dropdown menu in the search field (the arrow on
the left).

I need folders, too.

Tags are cool, but sometime I want to browse the profiles rather than to search.

Use the beta version. Then you can name tags with slashes and they will behave like folders. A tag named "/Company1/dev" will turn into a two-level hierarchy in the Profiles menu and a browsable tree in profile lists (Press the [Tags >] button to expand it).
