Web Browser: Cmd+Shift+Click Not Opening Link in Vertical Split"

I installed the Web Browser plugin and followed the quick start guide. According to the documentation, "Cmd+click" should open a link in a new tab, which is working correctly.
However, "Cmd+Shift+click" does not seem to open links in a new vertical split pane as expected. The expected result is that this command should split the pane vertically and open the link in the right-hand pane. Instead, nothing happens when I use this command.
For reference, I have checked the instructions on the iTerm2 documentation page: https://iterm2.com/documentation-web.html.
