Hello,

I am not sure if I am doing it the right way, but iterm2 SCP is not working for me.

1. First I ssh into the machine of my choice.
2. I press option and then select the file from the desktop to upload to the server via SCP, iterm minimises itself
3. I go to a folder in the ssh session and then right click on a file, the download via SCP option is greyed out.

Anything I am missing?

I have the same issue. When I ssh to a server and right-click a file, the "download with SCP" option is grayed out.

I wrote up a document on this problem:

If it's grayed out, then you probably don't have shell integration installed on the remote host.

I have the same
How can I tell if shell integration was installed?
I mean, I did execute it, and I have now imgcat etc. in my path. Moreover, it2dl and it2ul both works. But the scp is still grayed out.
I tried to manually set iterm2_hostname in the .bash_profile file, and yet, Download with scp is grayed out.

What else can I check?

One more thing,
When setting Badge to \(session.hostname)
It displays my local machine name, and not the ssh'ed one.

Shell integration is installed if you get a blue arrow to the left of your prompt. It's possible that you have other stuff in your .bashrc or .bash_profile that interfere. In particular, code that uses PROMPT_COMMAND can cause problems.

This document has some hints to debug this kind of issue if you haven't already seen it: https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/scp-not-connecting

If you do get the blue arrow and you've set iterm2_hostname prior to loading the script and scp is still disabled, please file a bug with a debug log and I'll look into it. You can file bugs at https://iterm2.com/bugs. Instructions on creating a debug log are at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
