HI Everyone as you know sometimes a ssh session can timeout. When that happens the iTerm2 or standard Terminal tab/window is locked,

You can click enter/return a few times and it takes quite a while to disconnect.

In terminal there is some functionality to force the disconnect by doing an 'Esc' followed by '~' followed by enter/return.

Is there something like this in iTerm2?

Thanks

Typically this is a problem people have when they use tmux integration. In that case you can turn off Prefs > Advanced > Tolerate unrecognized commands from server.

If you're not using tmux integration, then I'm afraid iTerm2 is powerless to help you since it's not implementing the SSH protocol, but just running OpenSSH. I'm sure someone knows more about the OpenSSH client and provide a better answer :)
