Hi,

Since I updated to MacOS High Sierra, iTerm2 (both 3.1.2 and 3.1.3) has been crashing at least once a day, out of nowhere, when it is idle in the background. I'm not sure how to reproduce the issue. I have been sending the automated reports both to Apple and to the iTerm2 devs. Never had a problem with previous OS version. I'm curious if anyone else has same problem, and possible ideas to fix it.

Unrelated, but curiously also TextMate 2.0 has started crashing since the update to High Sierra, out of nowhere, and never had a problem before. If iTerm2 and TextMate have some common libraries, maybe that will help finding the issue.

Best,
Pasquale

What does the crash report look like? I've seen a number of them that I can't explain when Sparkle tries to auto-update. If the crash report includes this line:

Crashing on exception: You must specify the URL of the appcast as the SUFeedURL key in either the Info.plist or the user defaults!

Then please send me your ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist file as well as a zipped copy of the iTerm.app bundle so I can see what's happening.

Thanks George, will do at the first occasion since the reports usually get sent automatically and I didn't save a copy, but from the top of my head I don't remember seeing the exception.

Incidentally, it didn't crash over the past 24h or so, and the only thing that changed in my system was the update to Xcode 9.0.1 yesterday.

Best,
Pasquale

I found a possible solution—please try the nightly build and let me know if the issue persists. You can get it from https://iterm2.com/nightly/latest

Thank you very much George. Still no new crashes to report here since yesterday. At the first crash, I'll send you the files you requested and then switch to the nightly build.
