Hi group,

I recently updated my OS to Big Sur and my iterm2 behaviour has changed. Most notably and annoyingly, when I launch a new session or tab, it looks like it defaults to starting a python session (I'm assuming this from the tab name - see screenshot). It hangs for 10-20 seconds and then seems to give up and go to a bash session in my home directory (which is what I want). The "hanging" can be interrupted by hitting enter.

I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, but does anyone know how to override this so that a new bash session in my home directory is the default behaviour?

Thanks!
Ian

Sounds like your dot file is launching a slow python script. Turn on the “Job Name" status bar component to get more info. When it’s in this state, click on the component to see a tree view of which processes are running in the tab.
