Hi,

I'm using iTerm2 v3.2.8 on Mojave v.10.14.4

At one point I had installed iTerm2 and made it the default terminal. I removed it for some reason and now I'm wanting to use iTerm2 again. The application works as expected but the option to make iTerm2 the default terminal is greyed out. Any ideas on how I can fix this and make iTerm2 the default terminal?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

That would suggest to me it is already the default or there is a fouled plist file blocking it.

Does Terminal have the optional available?  If so, try setting Terminal to be the default and then check if that option becomes available for iTerm2.

For my own ability to grow, what do you see changing when iTerm2 is the default terminal?

Terminal doesn't have that option.  Any idea what plist I should look at?

I don't understand your second question. Can you rephrase it?

Thanks

Dan

If it's grayed out it's because it's already set as the default terminal. The launch services database is prone to corruption. Try restting it:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain u -domain s -domain l -v
