tmux integration - tabs instead of windows

In a recent update (last few weeks) I seem to have started getting iTerm2 tabs rather than windows when I run `tmux new-window`.

I have "When attaching, restore windows as:" set to "Native Windows" and "Suppress alert asking what kind of tab/window to open in tmux integration." set to "No".

I am on iTerm2 3.4.4. I am connecting to linux running tmux 3.1c and GNU bash 5.1.4(1)-release.

Change **Prefs > Advanced > Should new tmux windows not created by iTerm2 open in the current window** to **No** to get back the old behavior.
