iterm2 starts minimized

my iterm2 starts minimized on dock. i have to click on its icon to open a new and visibile/maximized window.

the thing is, i know i can change this behavior by setting iterm to restore previous sessions, but i don't want to restore previous sessions when i open the app, i just want a fresh new and visible window just like macos native terminal does.

i'm using macos monterey and my iterm2 is up to date.
