kill command

Hi,

I cannot find how to kill a running process using iTerm. Command-C or Command-. dont seem to work. What am I missing?

iTerm uses the standard UNIX scheme:

Control-C sends SIGINT (will end any process that doesn't trap SIGINT)
Control-Z sends SIGSTOP (the process can be restarted with the fg command)

Another alternative is to open another tab and say

killall -15 processname

That will send a SIGTERM to the process. If the process sill won't die, try

killall -9 processname

That will send a SIGKILL to the process (SIGKILL cannot be trapped).
