iTerm2 as xterm?

Hello,

I’m pretty sure I misunderstood this post: is it possible to use iTerm2 as a replacement for XQuartz’s  terminal (like xterm, urxvt, …) and run it inside of an X window?

I'm not sure I understand either.  You can start X11 apps from iTerm2 and I assume it has been that way for awhile.  ( just tested it had no problem running eyes)

If the goal is to remotely login to a macOS system and then remotely display iTerm2 back onto the original machine, I'd be surprised that works but I don't see the need.
