up/down arrows don't scroll history anymore, just makes the bell ding.

At some point my up/down arrow keys stopped working as they have "forever".   now when i hit the up or down arrow,  it just makes the terminal 'ding' sound instead of scrolling history.

Aside from messing with profile colours,  I don't recall remapping any key bindings.  I even tried setting them to "emulate terminal" but that didn't help.

Any idea how I can fix things so the up/down arrow keys scroll history back and fourth?

Right click, select Terminal State, and see what mode the keyboard is in. It’s possible that something is switching it into a mode that your shell doesn’t expect. Normally only “Standard Key Reporting Mode” should be checked
