Missing buttons from selectable command regions

Hello,

I have a question regarding this feature: https://iterm2.com/documentation-command-selection.html

The page states "Additionally, various buttons appear at the top right of the selected region" and I recall seeing these buttons in the past, however they do not currently appear and I can't see a relevant setting that might bring them back.

I have shell integration installed.

Could anyone suggest how I bring the buttons back?

If clicking on a command selects it (dims other commands and draws a border around it) the buttons should definitely be visible. I did fix a few bugs around this in the nightly build, though. Can you test if it still happens using the download at https://iterm2.com/nightly/latest?

Yes, clicking the command does highlight it as you described.

Confirmed this is still occurring as of Build 3.6.20250711-nightly.

I also confirmed that the issue persists even after running "defaults delete com.googlecode.iterm2" (stable and nightly)

Moving my ~/.zshrc out of the way and reinstalling it2 shell integration actually resolves the problem. So I guess the problem is something in my environment. I'll try and find out what in there is causing the problem in case it's of interest to anyone.

Are you on an older version of macOS? The buttons require at least macOS 11 because of the availability of SF Symbols.
