I need to selectively edit/remove (sometimes large) chunks of my scrollback buffer. For example, I've just run apt upgrade, and I get a lot of output that I want to see as it happens - but do not need or want it permanently in my buffer.

Also, if I read a man page, or view something in a pager, fragments of that remain in my scrollback buffer - It makes it difficult to go back and review anything as pager views are mixed up randomly with commands & command outputs.

If I highlight a section of text using the mouse, and use the command-L keybord shortcut for Clear to start of selection, it deletes not only the highlighted section of text, but everything from the top of the selection to the current command prompt. That's not what I intended - I only wanted to delete the highlighted passage from the scrollback buffer.

Thanks for any help.
