First of all, great work! I just started using iTerm2 and have been pleasantly surprised how much better it's become compared to the original project.

The built-in visor feature is also great, but I can't figure out if it's possible to:

- change the width of the visor window. I'd like to not have it stretch the full width of the screen.
- Speed up the drop down animation - right now it's a little slow, and performance isn't great -- not a criticism, as I know it's still early days, but I'd like to completely turn off the animation for now if at all possible.

Thanks!

I've written a patch to control the HotKeyAnimationSpeed:

http://gja.in/patches/hotkeyAnimationDuration.patch

You can set the speed via the defaults command. Use a value of 0.0 for
instantaneous.

Also, i noticed that the help mentions that the 'domain' that defaults
writes to should be 'iTerm' [1], but in reality, iterm2 seems to read
from 'com.googlecode.iterm2'. Is this a bug, or have I done something
wrong? (mac newbie over here)

example:
$ defaults write com.googlecode.iterm2 HotkeyTermAnimationDuration -
float 0.1

Thanks for the patch, Tejas. I checked it in in r714.

Not sure what's going on there, but it should be com.googlecode.iterm2.

+1 really enjoying having the instantaneous switch to the visor -- thanks very much.
