I hope all is well in new year. Wanted to double check what was the exam voucher code for VCP-DCV provided by Humber?

Hi Class,

Just wanted to give an update concerning the voucher and exam.

I was able to gain access to the VMware 70% off voucher Humber provides, but you need to register for exam VCP510PSE to use it, not the regular VCP510 exam.

I attempted to register the VCP510PSE exam, on VMware website at below link by clicking "Request Authorization", but the page just refreshes instead of prompting me to login. If I am already logged in, it just gives me a link to call, email or chat with VMware concerning the issue.

I have sent VMware and email to verify why I am not able to register for VCP510PSE, but I am able to register for VCP510 and current awaiting their response.

Here's what I've read concerning difference between VCP510PSE & VCP510.

VCP510 exam requires we take the VMware mandatory training for the $4,000 to $5,000 for a 5 day class. Once we pass exam and do course we are certified.

For VCP510PSE exam we apparently only need to take a VMware Academy course from an institution (ex: potentially Humber), have the institution submit our transcript to VMware, pass VCP510PSE and we are automatically certified, meaning no need for VMware training.

I'm not sure how true this is, or if its a loop hole in their system, but I will try to test this theory as soon as I can register for VCP510PSE. If I am not successful I will do the regular VCP510.

Personally I think its a possible loop hole as the link doesn't work and VMware recently updated their registration page. They could be blocking us out to change the rule? Not too sure.

I still need to find out who does Humber need to send the transcript to at VMware if this is all true.

Sorry the other thought was, we need the Humber "Course Advisor" to register the exam on our behalf as seen in below link.

They would call VMware using below contact # and register exam for us.

Does anyone know who our Humber course advisor would be for our course?

Hi Shawn and all,

 

As for registering for VCP-DCVPSE exam you have to do this through VMware site using your registered account with them. As for the difference between the VCP-DCV and VCP-DCVPSE version, I had contacted both Pearson vue and VMware support and finally got the answer that this is the same exam but the only difference between the two is that PSE means it is sponsored by some institute and thus we an use the voucher, which is again is done through VMware site and not pearson vue site. There is no other difference I was able to register for both VCP-DCV510 and VCP-DCVPSE exam as a matter of fact. 

Anyone can give this exam it does not matter if you have done the training or not with VMware. but the difference is that you will not receive a certificate saying your are VMware certified unless you pay the VMware hefty fee.

 

In our case, what we will get is a transcript only saying that we have passed this exam and we can go to companies saying we have passed this exam but we don't have certificate blah blah

 

Hope this makes things clear. Anyways anyone already given this exam or not?

Thanks for clarification Abeer, it seems for some reason I'm able to login to register VCP510PSE today. From Saturday till yesterday I was struggling to get page.

I will see if I can use voucher and book exam for this week.
