DevOps Consultant

Long term contract

Reston, VA

 

Role Description:

Client public trust clearance requires that individual has lived in the US 3 of the last 5 years

 

This is a long-term position requiring the resource to perform at least the following tasks:

 

•        Convert existing infrastructure assets into universally deployable packages;

•        Support creation of production-like software deployment procedures for local Developer laptops

•        Redesign existing build procedures to reduce complexity and enable more CI/CD operations

•        Support design and implement environment blueprints within AWS Cloud Foundation templates

•        Support design and implementation of new deployment tool for entire software portfolio

•        Support design and implementation of new deployment infrastructure across multiple data centers

•        Raise issues and risks to supervisor in a timely manner.

 

Required Skills:

·         DevOps - (P2 - Proficient)

·         Shell Scripting Languages (sh/csh/ksh/Cscript/JCL/others) (P3 - Advanced)

·         Amazon Web Services (AWS) (P2 - Proficient)

 

Desired Skills:

·         Hashicorp Vagrant (P1)

·         RedHat Package Management (P3)

·         Jenkins / Nexus (P2)

·         Docker (P1)

·         Puppet / Chef / ansible (P2)

 

Additional Requirements:

·         Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

·         Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

·         Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

·         Must be able to receive Federal Public Trust clearance

·         Candidates must have lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.

·         Candidates must be local to the Washington, D.C. Metro/Northern VA area – travel will not be reimbursed.

·         Completed Background Investigation in accordance with Section 8.3 of your Subcontract Agreement prior to start of work.
