Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Sr. Network Engineer with hands-on experience in Extreme Networks switching technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure with a focus on Extreme switches, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Layer 2/3 network infrastructure using Extreme Networks switches (e.g., 5320, 5520, VSP series).
- Configure and troubleshoot ExtremeXOS and Fabric Connect technologies.
- Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast protocols.
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues using tools like ExtremeCloud™ IQ.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support network-related needs for data centers, campuses, and remote offices.
- Maintain documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure network security through MACsec, ACLs, and port security.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide Level 2/3 support for network incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in enterprise networking.
- Proven expertise with Extreme Networks switches and management platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security.
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
- Certifications such as Extreme Certified Specialist (ECS) or Extreme Certified Professional (ECP) are highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
