Position: Avamar Backup Admin. - L3

Avamar :
? Good hands on Experience in AVAMAR Backup Tool.
? AVAMAR server/Client and Administrator console installation.
? Server/Client installation on different platforms (Unix/Windows/Linux). Knowledge in managing Domains, Clients, Users through AVAMAR Administrator console
? Create and Manage Dataset, Schedule and Retention Policy. Monitoring AVAMAR backups and recovering failed backups.
? Analyze Problems & escalate to appropriate Levels. Hardware /software fault detection and vendor liaison
? Good knowledge on DR and Restoring backups based on requirement. Configuring Events, Notifications.
? Generating different kind of backup reports and sending to customer.
? Should have Strong Knowledge about NDMP backups
? Responsible for capacity planning and performance analysis of backup and recovery infrastructure.
? Should have Strong Knowledge De-duplication & VTL’s Backup performance monitoring & optimization Capacity utilization trending and reporting
? Consults with end users to coordinate scheduling of backups and address other backup and recovery concerns.
? Responsible for strategic planning related to ongoing enhancement of large backup and recovery environment
? AVAMAR system migration concepts
? Configuring/Managing VMware backups.
? Strong Knowledge of EMC Avamar concepts
? Should understand the EMC Avamar process flow & error codes
? Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of backup and recovery related issues.
? Backup Infrastructure for FS, MSSQL & Oracle database using EMC Avamar and perform end to end setup and execute the necessary use cases and test-cases on it in order to optimize the performance.
Job Requirement:
EMC Storage Admin :
? Experience on Enterprise-class Storage from EMC (Cx Series and Symmetrix)
? Fiber Switches/Directors from Cisco, Brocade, or McData (Zoning / VSAN / ISL setup )
? Lun Management, Monitoring and Replication using ECC/ SYMCLI / SRDF
? Hands-on with PowerPath and Snapview/ Snapclone
Other Skill:
? Working knowledge on Veritas Netbackup Administration Or Tivoli Storage Manager Administration
? IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration (familiarity)
? Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, data replication
? Experience in managing SAN on heterogeneous environment (Unix / Windows)
? Unix and/or Windows systems administration experience
? File System and Database Familiarity
? Should be familiar with ITIL processes
Responsibilities
? Provide day to day global operational activities for Storage and Backup/Recovery teams including administering storage array architecture, SAN infrastructure, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Enterprise Backup/Restore, Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) and Archival and Retrieval
? Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner
? Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation
? Assist in Data centre consolidation efforts
? Perform H/W monitoring and maintenance
? Troubleshoot issues related to backup integrity
