Hi all from a UK newbie to these things.

And apologies for my Italian. ;-)

I just acquired a P900 (on O2, network unlocked) and since we often
visit Italy and I have an Italian rechargeable SIM (bought on Italian
eBay) I have a couple of questions:

1. will SMS work and what settings do I need to put in for Italian
networks (or is the SMS centre number set in the SIM and the phone
will know to use it)?

2. The same with GPRS, although getting SMS to work is a higher
priority.

Perhaps a kind owner of P800 or P900 could locate these on their phone
and copy them for me? Any network as I can always get anothe SIM...

Any help would be very useful. And if you could kindly copy to
wlodek DOT tych AT btinternet DOT com
it would be very helpful. :-)

Best wishes,

V.

Which sim?
All the settings are related to the network's operator. So, to have an
exhaustive answer, you should tell if the SIM card is from TIM , WIND or
VODAFONE.

If it's completely unlocked, then yes, it should work without any problem,
since we have that phone here, too. About the SMS center number : yes, it's
present on the SIM card already, so you don't have to set it.

You have to set it. But the settings depend on the SIM brand.
( TIM, WIND or VODAFONE ?)
